God Sees Your Service

Diane Epling

I always pray for God’s direction when writing these Prayer Journals. I ask God to give me the words that you need to hear, and He never fails to show me the message that is most important. I’m sure there are those of you reading this who spend many hours praying for others. It always seems to be the same individuals who unselfishly give your time to your family, friends, and to your church. You are the ones who everybody knows will come through for them when they are troubled or challenged. You are the dependable few who God especially wants to hear this message. He sees you! God knows you have a giving heart because He was the one who gave it to you. Even when there are few thanks shown by others you often serve, God knows you are really serving Him—and He is pleased and blessed by you. Isn’t that amazing—that we can actually bless God?

God wants you to know that nothing you do goes unnoticed. You are loved and appreciated. Your service is so necessary in our world. Your kind and loving heart is such a witness to the love our Lord has for us all. Your service is a living testimony to God’s love for others. You are seen! You are heard! You are valued!

As you spend time with the Lord over the next few days, my prayer for you will be that you feel God’s love so powerfully that it bubbles over to all who draw near. My prayer for you is that God wraps His love around you so tightly that your joy overwhelms you. My prayer for those who come into contact with you is that they see and recognize God’s loving light that radiates from you to light the way for others to follow and that your boldness and faith are witnessed through your humble service.

So, there are no quoted Scriptures in this prayer journal—no advice or suggestions on building an intimate relationship with God because your service is evidence that your heart is already surrendered to God’s plan for your life. What I have for you is a heartfelt thank you! Thank you for your service. Thank you for your obedience to God’s instructions, even when it means being so self-sacrificing! Thank you for letting God’s unfailing and unconditional love shine through you to fill the hearts of others in need. You are indeed one of God’s warriors.
